Jim Holmes |
 |
Jim Holmes is a 1965 graduate of the United States Military
Academy at West Point and has a master’s degree in law
enforcement administration from Central Missouri State University.
Jim is a Viet Nam veteran and, after being honorably discharged
as a Captain in the U. S. Army, he served for 15 years as a
Special Agent and then Supervisory Special Agent with the Federal
Bureau of Investigation. In 1985, Jim was appointed by then
Governor John Ashcroft as the first Executive Director of the
Missouri Lottery. Subsequently, since 1987, he has acted as
a national and international gaming consultant. During Jim's
time with the FBI he participated in and supervised other Special
Agents in the conduct of complex investigations including surveillances,
the gathering of evidence and the preparation of investigative
reports for submission to the United States Attorney. Jim brings
a wealth of experience to his work as a private investigator. |

Wendy Elkins |

Wendy Elkins started her law enforcement career as a US Customs
Inspector in Honolulu, Hawaii. After receiving a Bachelor of
Arts degree in Criminology at the University of Hawaii she
was hired by the State of Hawaii Narcotics Enforcement Division
(N.E.D.) as a Narcotics Investigator. During her seven years
at NED she worked on a variety of drug-related investigations
and was sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration to
attend the Criminal Investigator Training Program at the Federal
Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC). Her training experience
also included serving as a Defensive Tactics Trainer for the
State Department of Public Safety. Wendy transferred to the
Prosecuting Attorney’s Office of the City and County
of Honolulu, serving as an Investigator and Supervisor in the
Major Crimes Investigations Unit and receiving training from
the Federal Environmental Protection Agency as Hawaii’s
only Environmental Crimes Investigator. For the past four years,
Wendy has been employed as a Lieutenant Investigator for the
City Prosecutor’s office in Las Vegas, Nevada. |

Louis (Lou) Smit |
 |
Louis (Lou) Smit has thirty-two (32) years of law enforcement
experience from local, county and federal agencies and has
a Bachelor's degree from National University. Lou is a U.S.
Army veteran, having served with the 82nd Airborne Division.
Following military service Lou continued working in death
investigations and later worked with local law enforcement
as a police officer in Southern Nevada. Lou was recruited
into federal service and last worked as a Special Agent with
the U. S. Customs Service, assigned to the Los Angeles Organized
Crime Strike Force and later worked in Texas as a Racketeer
Investigator. Cases revolved around drug cases; drug related
homicides; and crimes involving children. After a very successful
federal career, Lou returned to County law enforcement in
Northern Nevada and later worked as a Medical Examiner Death
Investigator in Washington State. Lou has served as a Professor
of Criminal Justice - Forensic Death Investigations for Del
Mar College (TX) as an on-line instructor. He is an
author of several death investigation training texts and
scene guides. For the last eight (8) years, Lou has been
with the Kitsap Co. Coroner's Office as a Deputy Coroner
and National Medicolegal Coordinator. Duties in Washington
State took Lou to the World Trade Center (WTC) at government
request, following the terrorist attacks upon the United
States on 9/11. Lou led a team that recovered victims
at the WTC and interacted with a second team at the Pentagon.
The expert team provided testimony to the 9/11 Commission
and provided advise to the Executive Offices of the President
and Vice President in relation to the medicolegal response
to the Tsunami of 2004/2005 and Hurricane Katrina. Lou most
recently worked as the Coordinator for a Homeland Security
project. Lou was awarded the "President's Call to Service
Award” for Lifetime Achievement. |
